The prices of the books are set they way they are because it's the only way I'll see a meaningful profit. Hey! All the books I have listed are self-published, given that I had to take the rights back from the former publisher who unfortunately mismanaged the royalties, leaving hundreds of us without payment for our hard work. I am taking it one day at a time, so I won't make any promises, but I can say that I've at least started! We'll see how it goes. So much so that last week, I started writing Verania book five! I'm a little rusty, but over the last week, I've written about 25K words of Justin's story. That being said, I have the backing of a great new publisher in Tor, and I'm so excited about what the future will bring. It's hard to want to write when a publisher has screwed you over so bad. What people need to understand (and this isn't me admonishing you-always ask questions, it's how you'll know!) is how creatively stifling all of this has been. I have received the rights back to my books and republished them, but I'm still owed tens of thousands of dollars from Dreamspinner, and there is no relief in sight. Hundreds of authors, editors, cover artists, translators are still owed an untold amount of money. No, the problems have not been straightened out.
